Shotgun Styles
Wenig New American Style – Throughout our years of working with our customers, we have noticed a “general trend” in the custom stocks we build. Most shooters–Trap, Sporting Clays, Skeet, or Field–need a Monte Carlo type stock with an offset parallel comb, closer grip, and toe out. This allows the shooter to keep his/her head upright and provides for more overall stability. So, we have designed a new stock, the Wenig New American Style, that combines these features to provide the shooter with the most comfortable stock ever made. Approximate dimensions for the New American Style are 1-3/8 x 1-3/8 x 2-1/2 x 14-1/4 with a 1/4″ offset comb and a 3/8″ toe out (no offset at heel). This style also features a palm swell and 3″ grip length from back of trigger guard. The New American Style can be made for any shotgun make/model. We have already made New American Style patterns for many guns, and we can make a new pattern (extra charges may apply) if we do not already have one.
Wenig Ladies Stock – Our new Ladies Stocks are basically a “more extreme” version of our New American Style and are designed (down pitch & parallel comb) to help reduce the recoil. The Wenig Ladies Stock provides for a deeper Monte Carlo, more offset in the comb, an even closer grip, shorter length of pull, and an exaggerated toe out. With approximate dimensions of 1-5/8 x 1-5/8 x 3 x 13-1/4, an offset comb of 1/8″, and a toe out of 1/2″, this stock works great for both women and beginning youth shooters. You may also order our “High Comb” Ladies Stock, which features a 1/4″ higher comb, making approximate dimensions 1-3/8 x 1-3/8 x 3 x 13-1/4.
Crossover Stocks – The Wenig Crossover stocks are designed for either the right-hand shooter who shoots with his left eye or for the left-hand shooter who shoots with his right eye. Dimensions will vary depending on the shooter’s needs. For best results, these stocks should be custom-fit to the individual.
Field Style – This style is duplicated from the factory original stocks, and approximate dimensions will vary with each model. In some cases, Wenig has modified the original factory dimensions into more appropriate 1-1/2 x 2-1/2 x 14-1/4 field dimensions.
Monte Carlo Trap – Similar grip and length of pull to the factory stocks, but with a higher, parallel comb and a Monte Carlo cut. Approximate dimensions are 1-3/8 x 1-3/8 x 2-3/8 x 14-1/4.
Rollover Cheekpiece – Resembling the Aristocrat style, this stock features a rollover comb with a cheekpiece and a palm swell on the tear grip.
Straight Trap – This style does not have a Monte Carlo cut or parallel comb, but it does feature the higher comb. Approximate dimensions are 1-3/8 x 1-7/8 x 14-1/4.
Thumbhole Stocks – The Wenig Thumbhole is undoubtedly the most comfortable thumbhole on the market. Designed with a rollover cheekpiece and an offset, parallel comb, this stock allows the shooter to keep both his head and hand upright and in a much more comfortable position. For best results, these stocks should be custom-fit to the individual.
Euro Style – This stock design is the compromise between the parallel comb New American and a field style stock, it still utilizes the offset, toe out, and grip design of the New American and has a gentle drop at the comb, approximate dimensions are 1-5/8 x 2-1/4 x 2- 3/4

The ATF regulations state that we have to ship back to the address it was received from. If you ship from a local FFL then that is where we will ship it back to. The only exception is that we can ship to another FFL if you request. We will not, however, be able to ship to your home address unless that is the address it came from. Call the office if you have additional questions about this topic.
The common carriers such as UPS. FedEx, etc, all have insurance available and it is priced typically in $1000 increments.
Although these have been shaped and drilled, there is still final fitting that needs to be done to the action, as well as trimming around the metal. This will allow for the variances in the action size and allow for a proper fit. After fitting you will need to do the final sanding, checkering if you desire, and finish.
You will need a moisture meter designed for this application, we need the wood at 10% or below moisture content. You may be able to find a business such as, a hardwood dealer, custom cabinet shop, or furniture store that would have a proper meter or you can always stop by our office and we would be happy to test it for you.
